I'm sure there are rumors about Harry Potter dying in the 7th book, but J.K. Rowling did NOT and WILL NOT reveal the ending of the book. She only said that she would be in a mourning period after she finishes the book.

JK Rowling has been very strict in not revealing details from the book, and has clearly stated on her website and in interviews that many questions will be answered in the books.
Just as a side note, I suggest you watch the movie "Misery", which is based on a book by Stephen King.
The movie tells the story of a famous romance author who has just finished typing the last copy of his novel series and plans to kill off the main character, "Misery".
However, he ends up crashing in a snowstorm and is rescued by a nice lady claiming to be her #1 fan.
I won't say any more, but let's just hope that nothing like in the movie happens to JK if she does kill Harry Potter.

JK Rowling sure is gonna make her 7th book the last book of Harry Potter..and since she plans to make it her last, d main character,harry potter will die..i noe it spoils d mood of d fans, dat d author givin out hints abt wat will happen in d end..but as she reveals she's killing off dis potter guy jus so no other author or writers cn continue on d potter series..
and,afterall, jk rowling did say dis is jus a hint.............

Right now it's only a rumor and one that won't be answered until the book comes out in July. JK closely guards the plots of her books so anything you hear until then is only speculation.

a while ago...maybe a year ago, i remember seeing an interview with JK Rowlings and she touched on the subject but didnt give a straight answer...
i guess we will all just have to wait a little longer for the book to come out to really know...

Come on people it's a RUMOR. Anyway, either Harry or Voldy is supposed to die as that is what the prophecy says. But yeah. Rumor.

in book 5, the prophecy does said that only one should live (either You-Know-Who or Harry). i guess we'd never know unless we read book 7. but i sure hope Harry lives...

Like you said, its a rumor. A lot of people think he will, but until it comes out, nobody will know what will happen to Harry.
