does anyone know if there are any professional football players that played more than one sport in high school or college, i'm talking about a linebacker and such

most linebackers in nfl played two sports in high school. zach thomas and others. it is bo jackson, though, who is best.

I'd say that atleast 70% of pro football players played more than one sport in high school. It is good to stay in shape in the offseason and also compete at something else. Linebacker type people probably were in like the discus and shotput events in track, depending on their body type they might have played basketball or wrestled too.

This is ancient history but: Jackie Robinson played basketball at UCLA, ran track, played tennis and then was an All Star in Baseball (and it was not his best sport, people who played with say he would have made it in the NFL or the NBA., but black players were not allowed in his time. He played all these sports in high school in Pasadena.

Lorenzo Neal was a State Title holder in wrestling during high school. While at Fresno state he played both football and was All West his junior and senior year and All American in wrestling.

I know that you are asking about linebackers but I know Dave Winfield was drafted in three professional sports.Baseball,basketball and football.
