Isolate the variable A. Solve for A in terms of B.
If the (A-9) is in the denominator:

B(A-9) =7/(8) Multiply both sides by (A-9)

(A-9) = 7/(8B) Divide both sides by B

A-9+9 = [7/(8B)] + 9 Add 9 to both sides

A=[7/(8B)] + 9

However, if it is 7/8 times the quanitity (A-9) it should be posted as:

B = (7/8) (A-9) or as

B = [7(A-9)] / 8 so

8B = 7 (A-9) Multiply both sides by 8

(8B)/7 = (A - 9) Divide both sides by 7

[(8B) / 7] + 9 = A Add 9 to both sides

Hope this helps!

B=7/8(A-9), which also means 7/8 x (A-9)
So,
B= 7/8A - 63/8
B/A= 7/8 - 63/8
B/A= - 56/8
B/A= -7
B= -7A
-B/7=A

So answer is
A= - B/7

8B = 7A - 63
7A = 8B + 63
