My girlfriends 20 yr. works part time and only pays 25.00/wk. I keep trying to get him motivated but she is content to sit by and watch her son sink.and i can't say a thing.

She is obviously an "enabler" with issues of her own. Perhaps she is clinging to him because she is afraid to be on HER own. It's high time this 20 year old got an "in your face" life lesson. His Mom should sit him down and show him the bills for each month and let him know that he needs to contribute to 50% of the household expenses, or move out.....
My parents had us paying rent, our car insurance and car payment, gas & maintenance on our cars, and buying our own clothes and extras at age 18. He needs to wake up, stand on his own two feet, and act like a responsible adult...
I know a woman whose 45 year old son still lives with her and he couldn't turn the washer on let alone cut the grass!! It's pathetic!! Now she's worried (in her 80's) about what will happen to him when she dies.... Tell your friend this is NOT the scenario she wants to look forward to!!

At least he works and pays something. I can't get my 20-yr-old to do anything. Good luck.
