I need to clean dried vegetable oil splatters off of the stove top, hood, cabinets, and tile around the range. I am in need of cleaning tips to make the job easier.

Dawn dish detergent, or any good dish detergent for that matter will work. It may take some good ol' fashioned elbow grease, but you can do it. Use a very warm soapy sponge or cloth and suds it up really good, then wipe it away. It'll eventually come off. I wouldn't use anything harsh because they usually leave a film.

Dawn Direct Foam is great for dissolving grease. In fact, sometimes a little too good - don't use it on iron cookware, you'll need to re-season it! :) Baking soda is a great mild abrassive. I haven't found anything it will scratch, but it is a great scrubber. I use it in my fiberglass tubs, for glassware, on my porceline-topped stove, to remove stains in my stainless steel sink, etc. If I could have one scrubber, that would be it. Put a little soapy water on the dried mess and let it set for a few minutes, whipe up what dissolves, then sprinkle with baking soda and rub gently. Depending on what it is, sometimes it will still take a little elbow grease.

Good luck!

The impossible becomes possible.

I found that soft scrub works well. Only a little bit though so it doesn't scratch the surface.
