There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

I have very dark circles under my eyes as well. Many people think (perhaps because it is most common) that dark eye circles only happen because of lack of sleep. I get plenty of sleep, but they're always still there! There are several ways that actually helped me so far:

1. applying moisturizer underneath my eyes at before I went to bed.
2. Because eye circles have the characteristics of bruises, apply ice or cold water to the under eye before bed and when you wake up.
3. Changing the diet a little so more protien can be allowed to fix the "bruises" overtime.
4. You profile picture is a woman, so I expect you ARE in fact a femal.e. A light colored concealer works. Try to get lighter than your skin tone so the concealer doesn't look yellowish as the day progresses.
5. Massage the under eye so blood can circulate better.
6. I know I contradicted this before, but a minimum of 8 hours of sleep is necessary.

Dark circles are caused by poor circulation in the eye area. You can get eye gels or creams that are made to help increase the circulation and that reduces the circles.
In the meantime:
- cucumber slices or cold teabags over your eyes for 20 minutes every day
- cut down on salt and sugar
- increase water intake
- take a good multivitamin
P.S. You need to do all these, not just one.

this doesn't entirely take them away but it helps. Try saturating a cooton ball with milk and relax for about five minutes with them on your eyes
