Just Dave You must be very young. It was all over every news broadcast and newspaper. There were court cases to get the votes counted in Fla. Gore tried to block them.

Jean.F You wish. It was the news stories on every newspaper and news broadcast. No rumor. The Courts over ruled Gore and the military votes were counted. You also must be very young.

The recounts were done. The New York Times CNN and the Miami Herold and every nespaper did there own recount and the out come was G.W. Even the Times conceited Bush won. It was a Democrat lawyer that argued for the military votes to be counted when Gore tried to block them. All of America watched the court proceedings on T.V.

What you are reffering to is Gore trying only to have the votes counted in the counties he was sure he would win in. He did not want a recount in all counties.

That was the 2000 election...and I remember it well.

Right after that, they tried for the "selective" recount of the districts where candidate Gore stood to gain more votes

Fortunately, the Supreme Court maintained the "rule of law" and said that if you are going to recount, you have to do a recount of the entire state.

As I recall, that was the point where candidate Gore folded up his tent and went home. And wisely so. Because subsequent recounts by various media revealed that, contrary to liberal mythology, he lost the state of Florida.

This has been proven that it was Bush that disqualified the votes of the military and He also did not let a lot of the African Americans vote at all. This is how rumors get started... You must be a Republican because this question is nothing but a straight out LIE !!!

The Democrats blocked the counting of military votes that had arrived TOO LATE......

It was the Republicans that stopped the count in Florida.....

Yes I remember Al-manbearpig-Gore only wanted the votes counted that he knew were going to be for him. He is such an honorable trust worthy man by the way. He would never lie for personal gain.

Uhm, that was Bush. Gore wanted their votes. You have it backwards.

HELLO! Remember Bush wouldn't want a recount or have more votes come in because it risks him losing! Dang you all have short memories.

Seriously, I remember that day. I was on pins and needles waiting for the military vote to show that Bush was the loser. I was relying on them. You all have it backwards.
