Google earth is program put out by GOOGLE, of course. You can enter the location of the place that you are interested in, and it zooms into the place. Very cool. I can find my house when I enter it. It does not have a virus. It is safe. I don't have a virus scanner installed, and have never had a problem. If you watch ABC News, they use Google Earth all the time when they report on Iraq. :)

Google Earth offers maps and satellite images for complex or pinpointed regional searches. I'm not sure how "cool" that is. I'm sure there are cartographer's out there lovin' it.

As for anti-virus - avg - it's free. & get zone alarm firewall - it's free also.

& no, I would assume that google earth does not give you viruses.

Here's the link for requirements to use google earth. It looks like you need a fairly new & quick pc. & need a broadband connection.

I use google earth to measure the distance from one place to another, and to measure the distance it really takes to get there. for example the distance from home to work, I can choose the shortest route. It may not be the fastest route, though
and I enjoy looking at the pic of my own home from satellite

Hello. I downloaded Google earth, and yes, its cool. you're looking at satellite pictures around the world. (basically a "birds eye view"). You can look anywhere from your house to Japan, or Iraq, to Australia..... anywhere. ..... Happy searching :)
