I do not have the cd. Is there any other way (other than buying another disk?)

I have a windows xp. I don't have the reformat disk. Is there any way that I can delete everything (other than by buying a disk?)

I did it by accident once! Don't remember how. I probably didn't even know what I did then! Why would you want to?

Windows will not let you format the disc that has the Windows folder on it. You will need to original disc, or a copy of Windows, in which case you press F12 during start-up, and run through the set-up program to format the drive that way, and then re-install the operating system. Either way, you DO need a disc. :)

Mabye find a really old System Restore point on the computer and to back to that point. Everything except the basic OS will be gone.

You have to have the CD to restore your operating system if you delete everything.

restart then as it does so hold down f10 key and follow prompts advance Will reformat full disc in minutes

start the computer then press f10 then follow what it says.Thats the way i did it.
