He originally majored in English...

So why is everyone listening to this douche bag again?

All because you can read doesn't mind that you suddenly have the answer to life's questions.

That's like saying all because a middle schooler can read, they can finally come up with the answer with how HIV started appearing in humans. Come on. Common sense people. Are you going to allow Bush to teach your children Quantum Mechanics all because he can READ?

It's pretty funny and ridiculous when people say "Al Gore is not a know-it-all because he never once actually said he has all the answers." Like most else in the world, you can infer what one believes by how he acts and what he does say.

Al Gore, throughout his career, has been a guy who acts very sure of himself, always having an answer, whether or not it is well-thought out or correct. (He is, for example, he says, the man who invented the internet; it is only a matter of time before he takes credit for inventing the rubber band.) No, he never said the words "I HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS." Bores and blowhards and know it all rarely do say those exact words.

You can, however, fairly infer what someone thinks from his history of behavior and response. Al Gore thinks he has all -- or at least most of -- the answers on the environment. He is phony, of course, talking about carbon credits that he purchases in the company in which he himself has a financial interest. But that is okay; it is his shakedown.

But, yes, he is a "know it all", even though he certainly does not know it all.

He's a politician and has found a niche for his tripe. Don't get me wrong, I think we should be very conscious about the environment and need to take fairly extreme matters for the conservation of our planet; however, he doesn't mention that a program he actively supports and makes big bucks from, namely Free Trade, has helped China build huge manufacturing sites. By 2012, if things continue, China will be producing more than 12 times the amount Greenhouse gases that the US produced at its worst in 1980. We strangle our economy even more so China can pollute and take our jobs.

Thanks again Gore baby!

Why almost every one it seems talks against Gore, the man is fighting against the pollution of the environment is that so awful? He has renowned scientists working with him and advising him on this subject. if you follow the various debates and conferences on the issue (the latest conference was held in Europe with scientists from every country in the world attending), you will understand a little bit more about Gore's commitment. Please don't be so apt to criticize just for the sake of criticism!

Clearly , just because someone can read doesn't prevent them from name calling to debase folks they feel inferior to, or disagree with!!

I also have a degree in government & politics , does this mean I can't be a "no it all" about say insurance , music , comedy , or baseball? Gimme a break!!

This isn't a partisan issue, & the man happens to be passionate about it....if you don't agree , (& I'm not fully convinced) don't pay attention to him , or get so negative emotionally !!

Despite how people may feel about his political views , I would venture to say he has done more for his country than the majority of folks on this site!!

FINALLY!!!!! Someone with a fricken brain! This Douche Bag thinks he knows everything to know about everything, and even when scientists tell him that he might not be right, he still says that he thinks he is. So i guess were going to start listening to politicians who didnt become president about everything instead of the scientists, i mean what do they know?
Oh, and i heard that Bill Clinton was having a seminar on how to get away with cheating on your wife, and lying under oath!

Al Gore graduated from Harvard c*m laude in government studies in 1969 then went on to Vanderbilt. Where he studied law and divinity for one year.

Would you therefore consider him most qualified in leading us in pray for the government?

I'm not sure that he is a "know it all".
Having a degree demonstrates his intellectual abilities.
Assuming that he is quite intelligent, it's not that hard to find info about science, and the facts about our world's current environmental issues.

and if he's such a douche bag, why has his movie done so well, trying to put out to the world's population about the damage we as a human race is doing to our planet.

His hearing went really well and even a Republican from West Texas of all places told Gore how much he was respected and adored, even by him. The hearing was much more civilized and respected versus what you read on here. Even the Republicans were respectful and considerate towards him, and even listened to him. There is a life outside the Republican party, believe it or not.

You silly thang. Don't you know that the man invented the Internet? And what about his locked box theory? Intriguing. Oh, and the way he stomped his feet and cried when he lost the election? Priceless. I especially liked watching the veins in his neck pop out when he realized it was time to take his toys home.
