The doctor could try and prescribe something. Try and stay off gassy foods anything that may irritate your stomach. I am 11 weeks pregnant and have the same problem.

I have the same problem, and unfortunately, the only and best thing to do is to watch what you are eating when you get this gas. Also, try eating more slowly. THe faster you eat, the more air you bring in to your body, thus... GAS.
I also bought tums around 7 weeks, and I used them every now and then... they seemed to help some... but the best is to PREVENT it.
If you have more questions about it, I would ask your doctor.
oh and another thing - I had a problem with *letting it out* and is why it is so painful for me. I found that if i lay on my side, it helps for it to ease out.

Well, lol, being 31 weeks pregnant, first of all, let me say I feel your pain! My entire pregnancy, I get aweful gas pains all up my entire stomach, so bad it makes me want to cry! I can hardly walk, and its just what I imagine a contraction will feel like. So this is gross, but im going to be honest with you how I get rid of mine. It usually, for me at least, means I have diahreah. So, I have to go to the bathroom and sit on the toilet forever until...bam. I get relief. It stops the pain instantly. So maybe thats whats wrong with you. Hope I could help!

Sometimes if you pull your knees to your chest (or as far as you can pull them:) it will help release some gas. Try to stay away from gas producing foods like broccoli, etc.
I know you said that you don't want to take drugs, but ask your doctor if you can take something mild like Tums or Gas-X. I think both of these drugs are safe for pregnant women...but double check with your doctor for sure...

Ive had this kind of pain when i was pregnant, i went to the doctor and he said it was just the fact that my uterus was stretching which is going to be very painful and the fact that everything is starting to get pushed on. Your pain is pretty normal for how far along you are, if you're still worried call your doctor and just let them know what the problem is and they can take it from there !

Walk a lot, that will move the gas around. It may hurt, but it will make it come out. Also, if the pain gets really bad, try some Mylanta...I know you don't want to, but it helps!

That can be common through the first 3 months, especially if this is your first pregnancy..it usually gets better after 3 months...if not then ask your doctor what is a safe natural way to remedy this
eating bran each morning helps a lot too

The best way is to take an OTC remedy. Even your doctor will tell you to do that.
1) Don't let yourself be too uncomfortable
2) Herbs, if that's the path you go, aren't safe when you're pregnant.
Do you have a call-the-nurse hotline?

i am also 9 wks pregnant not my first and i always have stomach pains due to gas. try drinking soda like big red or sprite something to make you burp try taking hot showers and burping and also laying like curled up helps a little. if not try tums but it doesn't really help me that much. just keep burping. or put a pillow under your stomach and lay on it that helps. i've tried it all and they all help just try.
