I feel boarderline retarded. I just cannot believe that it has taken me 24 years to really figure how the world works. Please tell me what when wrong, or could it be what went right.

One day I just got tired of failing at EVERYTHING. I read so many books and talk to so many more people. Could it have been that? Idk....

The harder you hit bottom, the higher you can bounce, if you do bounce.
You obviously read the wrong books. I know there are many out there which are easy to understand and which would have helped you sooner. Yet I went from borderline retarded to understanding reality in 50 years including 12years in a cult. Then I found the abraham teachings through Esther and Jerry Hicks and success.
See below.

I think the longer it takes you to "get it" the more you actually "get it." Some people need to learn from their mistakes, but their past pain makes them realize they don't ever want to go through that again. Some people just do what's expected and that doesn't necessarily mean that they get it, it could just mean that they accept it. I think the smarter you are the more you want to challenge things. you learn some things are there because they make sense, and some things are just there because they've always been. You never really understand this and know when to step outside the box if you've always just taken it as-is.

I dunno, I learned it befor I was 12 though. I'm a curious person. My parents don't push me really hard and i end up being quite independent and self-organized. That has afforded me the confidence to just go out and try different clubs and sometimes leave out the house at 8 to go to school(on saturdays) to return at 8. Doing so many things gave me the opp. to see different people. That curious thing also leads me to pick people's brains about random and irrelavant things. That really gives you an idea about the diversity that could be between three people alone(unless they were triplets).

Your 24 years are your experience. Nobody can copy it or repeat it.
If you want something really, you will get it as soon as possible. Think back about all that you got until now. It was what you wished at least once in your 24 years. (discount your birth of course.)

Would you rather be as stupid as you think you were yesterday? Life is about learning. It never ends. You're making a mistake to beat yourself up for not being as aware yesterday as you are today. I had a little nursery school long ago. A little girl I loved, let's say her name was Sally, beat herself up all the time over how "stupid" she thought she was. She especially got frustrated and disappointed in herself during the dreaded "learning how to tie my shoes" life challenge. A couple of years later, she was playing quietly on the floor and astutely observing me work with another, younger child freaking out in utter frustration over the dreaded "learning how to tie my shoes" life challenge. Suddenly, Sally got up and joined us, took over for me with the younger child and gently got him through the experience with some rather wise teaching interventions. He dashed off to play outdoors and I hung back with Sally. As she hugged my leg, she watched the younger child romping from the doorway with me for awhile and then looked up at me and said most profoundly, "I wonder what I'm learning about now that's going to be easy someday, like tying my shoes?"

I thought I got it, but since I continue getting it, I'm not sure if I got it or am just now getting it. Maybe I'll get it tomorrow!

It took me 14 years. Since I was born.

But, I just realized today (after 15.5 years) that my knowledge claim is actually called "solipsism".
