If you love Gladiator you will dig this movie. The visual effects are reason enough to see it on the big screen, but it goes beyond that and has an enthrawling story that is masterfully acted out by a number of relatively unknown actors that come together as a group without some stand out featured Brad Pitt/Russel Crowe type. This movie was everything I wanted Troy to be. Besides you can catch the mattinee show for $4.25 or something.

Hi,
I saw the movie 300. Is not better than Gladiator, but it ranks up there, way up there with it.
If you liked the trailer, if youre considering watching the movie at your local theatre I believe youre halfways there. Just go, have an open mind (Dont think "THAT can't happen in real life. A man cannot jump like that!!! Elephants are not THAT big !!!!" etc.) and enjoy the "eye candy"
The visual presentation of this flick is closely related to its counterpart. The story is suspensful as relatively unknown actors played it and the awesome almost "matrix-like" effects and body parts flying around (R rated) is just brutal.
I don't think you have bad answers to your question on this one. Enjoy !

It is Eye candy, and action, You will not get the feel for the movie, on a TV, (unless you got a real kick as$ system)
As for gladiator, 300 is much better vision and sound wise, but doesn't have the dept of gladiator. 300 is pretty much the story behind a piece of history, and then eye candy, and as great as it is there is not much of an under line story, or great acting.

If you suffered in Gladiator, then definitely don't see 300. People die pretty violently and graphic. All the heroes die. On the positive side. It's a story that is based on a true historical battle. Battle of Thermopylae, where the king of Sparta Leonidas. (It's a story about the warrior like people of Sparta (in Greece)). who was under the threat of a Persian King Xerxes. This King Leonidas was able to hold the Persian invasion back with 300 of his finest warriors. The 300 sacrificed their lives for the freedom of their people. Check out the historical facts on-line- encyclopedia wikipedia. And decide if you may want to see it. Good luck.

If you loved Gladiatior, you'll this one ever better. The fight scenes are magnificent and the cinematography is amazing. It'll be hard for it to translate to DVD, I think. Trust me, it's 1000% better than "Seabiscuit". Unfortunately, I had to suffer through that one as well. I'm sure seeing it on IMAX is even better than how I saw it.

Because unless you're SUPER rich and have a massive surround sound and a gigantic screen, then you won't be able to experience the full awesomness of 300.
And what I suggest is not to see it in theaters but to see it in IMAX, so much better.
