I took an adult's IQ test on IQTest.com.
Is 116 a good score for an 11 year old? [I'll be 12 in 1 week.]
Just wanted to know.
Thanks! <33

Oh yeah, just to let everyone know, I am in GATE [Gifted and Talented Education], so this score isn't TOO surprising.

Your score is great! The average IQ score is 100. A score of 116 puts you in the High Average Intelligence category (IQ 110-120). It is in the 85th percentile, which basically means that you scored higher than 85% of your peers! Bear in mind, however, that measuring IQ scores tend to change as you grow up (they generally decline). To have a better estimate of your IQ, it is advisable to be at least 18 years old. Here's a general reference chart for interpreting IQ scores:

140+ Extraordinary intelligence
130-140 Very superior intelligence
120-130 Superior intelligence
110-120 High average intelligence
90-110 Average intelligence
80-90 Below average intelligence
70-80 Borderline deficiency
Below 70 Intellectually challenged

According to accepted IQ score application, 116 points for a person of your age is an above-average score. However, just as the first poster said, IQ tests are not accurate. Many people are scored with unfitting results. An IQ test, of which hundereds, if not thousands, of versions exist, is only based on how many facts you can cram into your head, and is not used for actual academic references, unlike nationally accepted tests such as the SAT and the ACT.
