Not saying that only racist whites listen to metal!
If you'd look at racist sites they seem to have monopolized the genre.

Thank you for all that have answered this question. What I am referring to is the stereotype, not anything I actually believe. I have been ridiculed by blacks, never whites (except robertde....) for liking metal, or any other genre of rock...

As a lyricist and metal fan myself I can only say that supremacist people believe that the music is about them, when it is the speed and beat of the rhythm that drives their already hate filled ideas about themselves. You are not weird for loving rock, you are f@!#ing awesome. You rock.

That's not even true. Granted it is less likely for you to see a black person wearing one of their shirts or at their concerts but I've noticed that in the town I live in now there are quite a few blacks that I see on a regular basis wearing Cradle of Filth, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, etc etc It's just not as common so maybe some people do a double take.
Now to your racist thing....my husband loves Cradle of Filth and he's not a racist and neither are our friends that like the same kind of music (some of which by the way are black or hispanic)
Stop looking for reasons to feel sorry for yourself.

Um, I'm not sure if you're kidding with this question, but I'm going to answer it as if you were serious. I like death metal and I've never catagorized it as just 'white' people music. And I'm not racist. Listen to whatever you want, and I'll listen to whatever I want. My question to you is more of a concern--why are you asking this question? Has someone led you to believe otherwise?

Most of the death metal fans I knew in high school were usually the conspiracy theorist anti-establishment types ....the more racist ppl I saw listened to punk music....I was the dude that listened to grunge....now I rock the house music and hip hop mostly, tho

Who said it's for racist whites? Do you see white refraining from listening to rap music because it's focused more on black people? No! So don't hesitate to listen to Cradle of Filth, if that's your thing, go for it. People view music in different ways, and music to people mean different things. Shouldn't judge people by what they listen too, and if that's the way this world is becoming then GOD help us all. I, myself, like alternative. I don't give a damn who likes it or who don't.

You are allowed to like and listen to any music that you wish. Don't let others tell you how to live your life. You are a human being and you are entitled to the same as all others. I'm white and Jim Hendrix was the best.....

Why do you think it's only for white people it's for anyone who likes it. If you like something then like it but remember when another person likes something dont bash on them for what they like.Who says you're not allowed I'm sure it's not the people who make the music.?

you can listen to whatever you want! cradle of filth is awsome! besides, there are black metal singers, and guitar players, and all that. the dude from sevendust is black. i forget which band recently had to replace their new singer, but he is black. corruption has an AMAZING black guitarist. and there is always this one black dude i always see at every metal concert i go to who is the singer/guitar player of a metal band, and whatever he is doing he rocks out just as hard as any white person. i think if white kids can listen to rap, there is absolutly no reason a black kid cant listen to metal. rock on!

Naw, screw those people. I'm spaniard American and i like them. <(*^_^)> I don't care if people have a problem with that, which they haven't. By the way you're very pretty and robertdeafrica3 doesn't have a picture because he or she is very ugly and a racist. If he said that on the street he would get arrested to say the least.
