Doc was sure that trouble was brewing when he saw Miss Sunshine, looking fit to be tied, stomping over to the Longbranch Saloon with fire in her eyes. She had heard that Miss Kitty and Matt had gotten together two nights before and she was ready for a battle! Doc had witnessed the showdown between Matt and Sunshine earlier in the day and been secretly laughing his *** off! "What on God's green Earth does that man have that keeps these gals fighting over him" he had remarked to Festus. Still laughing he said to Festus "Sunshine told him straight up and down that if he ever pulled anything like that again she'd be sticking her foot where the sun DON"T shine!" Sunshine said What to Matt??!! asked Festus as they both witnessed her marching toward the LongBranch. Doc noticed that Festus and his mule were beginning to look alike and wondered how soon it would be before he started resembling Festus if he didn't find some new interests. He was thinking, If Matt can have all these gals swooning over him, surely I can get one! Marshal Dillon is looking MIGHTY good but hell, I'm a professional man, surely that has to count for something with women!
Just then Festus's sister Chola Hagen stepped off a manure wagon that had given her a ride into town. Her and her look-alike brother made some smalltalk. "OMG.... " she said, "the other night he finally kissed me" she had stars in her eyes as she described the kiss she and Matt shared to her brother. At that very moment Matt arrrived in town just in time to see Sunshine enter the Longbranch. As he dismounted from his horse he looked over at Festus and Chola and shuddered, "I really need to quit drinking" he thought as he recollected the night before with Chola, talk about butt ugly, man alive!!!! Kitty had also lured him in the night before last with some talk of " giving you the best sex you ever had" Hmph!, The sex had been barely adaquate and now he was going to have to make it up to Sunshine, the only woman he had ever really loved!
He didn't have the nerve to enter the Longbranch and witness THAT showdown. He waited nervously outside thinking about how he was going to make it up to her if she gave him the chance. She stayed in there a REALLY long time and when she finally came out she had a Mona Lisa smile on her face.
Matt took one look and her and thought, " Damn if she aint the prettiest thing to ever hit Dodge City" She looked at him as if to say "Don't think your getting off THAT easy." He was just so happy that he even had a chance with her again. He smiled and exerted some of the Marshall Dillon charm. " "Hey Sunshine, what do you say I make you some dinner tonight at my place" The smile she gave him was brighter than the sun (thank God I have my beautiful Sunshine back he thought!) As they walked together toward his horse he shouted "Hee Haw and I love You!!!! (and he wasn't talking to his horse!!)

Small signs of Spring were beginning to arrive around Dodge City -- patches of grass appearing here & there and delicate little flowers opening their faces toward the gradually warming sun. Not surprisingly, Marshal Dillon is looking MIGHTY good in a new store-bought shirt that fits him just right. It was a terribly long winter and having been snowed in & cooped up together for so long, Festus and his mule Ruth are beginning to look alike. Things were picking up in town and Miss Sunshine sashayed into the saloon, pretty as a picture in her new pink bonnet that had just been delivered on the last coach. Doc was sure that trouble was brewing, but Miss Kitty just sulked her way back to the corner, licking her wounds. Curtis, who had been away for awhile, was catching up on all that had happened in his absence. "Sunshine said WHAT to Matt??!!" he hollered, finding out that Dodge City's newest sweethearts were now engaged to be married. At the best table, Sunshine was having a confidential chat with Festus. "Now don't go telling anyone," she whispered, "but OMG... he finally kissed me." Festus turned bright red and fell to laughing. "Sounds like a crazy dream I had about Ruth," he confessed. "Hee Haw and I love you!"

Doc was sure that trouble was brewing. He caught three of the new saloon dancers, Chola, Jayne and Silva, getting mighty friendly with Marshall Matt Dillon. If Miss Sunshine were to find out, he was certain that he did not want to be around as she would surely let everyone know how displeased she was. It all began when Silva said “Marshall Dillon is looking MIGHTY good.” This led the other two into a game to see who could get the Marshalls attention. Matt was taking it all in stride, but good ole Doc knew once Miss Sunshine got word of what these young women were doing, she would come storming into town and all hell would break loose, because no one and I do mean NO ONE, comes between Miss Sunshine and Matt.

As predicted, Miss Sunshine did hear about what was going on in town and around sunset she came galloping down the lane. Everyone was getting out of her way as they knew better than to cross her. The only one brave enough to try to stop her was Festus. “Whoa there Miss Sunshine” Festus said as he led his mule into the path of the galloping horse. Miss Sunshine had no recourse but to rein in her horse. As Miss Sunshine sat there, she noticed that Festus and his mule Ruth are beginning to look alike. This thought caused her to laugh, but then she remembered why she came into town. Those three women need to know that Marshall Dillon is TAKEN.

“Festus get out of my way right this minute” Miss Sunshine said. “I have to go see Marshall Dillon.” “Now you just calm down a moment Miss Sunshine” said Festus. “I don’t want you to come in here getting all worked up over nothing.” Miss Sunshine dismounted and stormed over to the saloon with Festus trailing after her.

The saloon suddenly got quite when Miss Sunshine entered. She immediately spotted Matt with the three beauties surrounding him. “Hello Marshall”, Miss Sunshine purred. “I hear that these young women have been giving you a hard time.” “Not at all Miss Sunshine, they are just being friendly” he replied. With that, Miss Sunshine leaned over and whispered into Matt’s ear. When she was finished, he took her by the hand and said that they better go over to the jail for a moment. “You’ll never believe what Miss Sunshine said to the Marshall” Festus said to Judge Brooker. Festus lowered his voice and repeated what he had heard Miss Sunshine say. “Miss Sunshine said what to Matt”??!! Judge Brooker shouted. She said “Don’t make me have to show you that I know how to castrate a bull.” Judge Brooker and Festus sat there laughing as they raised their beers to one another.

Meanwhile, over at the jail, Matt took Miss Sunshine in his arms and kissed her. OMG…he finally kissed me thought Miss Sunshine as she wrapped her arms tightly around his neck. “You know, you’re the only women that I ever want” Matt said. “Hee Haw and I love you too Marshall” said Miss Sunshine. As Miss Sunshine stood there in Matt’s embrace, she made a mental note buy stagecoach tickets for Chola, Jayne and Silva, because Dodge just wasn’t big enough for the all of them.

Here I go again another trip to Dodge City...This time to see my dear friend Sunshine..And see what the heck is going on there!

I arrive all in tact..Wow these coach rides are rough I will tell you, but I am sure it will be well worth the trip...Sure enough here comes Sunshine running at me just a yelling...OMG ....

I leave with worry on my mind...But a thought comes to me...is Sunshine ill or could it be she is with child?! No, no can't be she would have told me right away...Chola there goes your wild imagination again.

Just as I am ready to climb the stairs to Docs office, down he comes...Well hello Chola what a pleasant surprise...I am to worried to reply...I say Doc it's Sunshine something is wrong. We both rush on back to the dress shop.

As we enter I hear one of the saloon girls say...Sunshine said WHAT to Matt??!! The other one says yes you heard me right...I am running back to the Longbranch and telling Miss Kitty!

Doc looks at me and I look at him I can see in his face...Doc was sure that trouble was brewing...Oh God maybe I am right...Is Sunshine with child! Oh I have to know...I go to the back with Doc, there is Sunshine and Matt holding each other as close as close can be, with tears of joy in their eyes.

They announce to myself and Doc that they are going to have a baby!...I look at Sunshine and I have to say to her now wait, you told me when I arrived...OMG...he finally kissed me.
Oh Chola you know a woman has to keep her secrets...Well it is no secret now Sunshine!
We both say at the same time...Lets tell Miss Kitty...No better time than the present.

Matt looks at Doc...Doc just shakes his head, then says well I sure could use a beer now!
We all cannot help but chuckle...Then I remember that saloon girl...I tell Sunshine I believe Kitty may already know...Oh we have to hurry now.

Well we all walk in together, and there's Kitty standing there in all her gaudy glory...hands on hips...Well Matt I hear you and Sunshine are having a baby?! Is this really true...Oh her eyes are welling up with tears...Her face is as red as her dyed hair!

I go to sit at a table with Doc, we are trying not to get in their business, I turn to look around no Louie is still with Silva...I look at Doc he whispers in my ear...Chola have you ever in all your born put togethers seen a women so darn ugly?!
Well Doc I saw her earlier and I have to say no never...Then I say Doc is there anything you could do for Silva...He looks at me...Chola I am a doctor not a witch doctor, and I believe that ugliness goes right to the bone!
Doc can be so funny, what a character...But he does speak his mind...and the truth.

Now we have to direct our attention back to Matt,Sunshine and Kitty...Can you believe Kitty is tearing up her own saloon, Sam is trying to calm her...No use she is breaking tables, chairs and anything in her way.

I have to say to Doc I guess a baby shower at the Longbranch is out of the question...Well we may have to resort to the Bulls Head saloon...now we are laughing...why cry in our beer...Kittys doing enough of that for everyone.

Doc gets up, takes Kitty by the arm leads her to her room. A few minutes later he returns. He has given Kitty some kind of tonic to make her rest...Thank God...She really was being quite dramatic.

Doc tells us he explained to Kitty that at her age, she would never be able to give Matt a child...And a man like Matt deserved to have a full life...With a woman who could fulfill all his needs.

I tell Doc, and if Kitty is lucky maybe she can take Silva aka Manure face from Louie...Chola says Doc you are meaner than a bull...But my dear you are a pretty one, no matter what.

Well I stay in Dodge for a few months with Sunshine...I am the maid of honor at the wedding...it was a beautiful wedding...All of Dodge was there. Even Louie, but he was sober out of respect for the ceremony...Seems he looked at Silva with sober eyes...As he was running you could hear him yelling from afar...HI...HO..SILVA...AWAY!!! Sunshine and I had to laugh...remembering my comment many months ago.

I am back in Boston now, Sunshine had a beautiful baby boy...Matt Dillon Jr...Her and Matt are the happiest couple I know...Oh maybe one day I will find love like that...I can dream.

I also got news from Sunshine that Louie has never touched a drop of alcohol since...Seems the poor man is still in such a state of shock...He and Kitty are together alright but in a sanatarium.

Doc visits Kitty and Louie from time to time...every time he hears Kitty whispering...Oh my Matt...And Louie can still be heard from afar yelling Hi..Ho..Silva...Away!!
