I just heard that they had 25 lawsuits for stealing other peoples songs. They said there was a song that sounded exactly like stairway to heaven any ideas where I might hear it to compare???

I can't imagine Led Zeppelin stole anyone's songs. But here is a reference to a Website where someone says they did steal a bunch of songs (see below). I don't know if any of it is true. Here is the reference to "Stairway To Heaven" - and they claim the main guitar line is supposedly from "Taurus" by Spirit.

Ironically, I had been listening to this novelty version of the classic "Gilligan's Island" theme shortly before hearing the news of comic actor Bob Denver's passing. The spoof version of the song is by Little Roger and the Goosebumps, performed in the style of Led Zeppelin. The legend is the more famous band's publisher sued to have the recording taken off the market in the late 1970s and all remaining copies destroyed. Nevertheless, "Stairway to Gilligan" has resurfaced on the Internet and is presented via Shockwave

Look up that song: "Stairway to Gilligan" was made after Stairway to Heaven

: )

Being a diehard Zeppelin fan it's the other way around...they have sued at least 25 people.
Try the following link for the most versions out there: http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2006/05/stairways_to_he.html
Gilligan's Island version is the BEST!!!!(Yeah they were sued by Led too)

I think they were influenced by a lot of other people so they might have used something similar to them but I don't think they plagiarised word for word(or note for note). It happens in the music industry. There was one with The Who and Best Song Ever although The Who weren't willing to press charges.

I've never heard that but if they did it would be most likely because they did use some lines of old American Blues songs. But in all fairness to Zepelin...More people in heavy metal have ripped THEM off a zillion times over.
