Okay like I said I own a 1971 Kawasaki F7 175 and the throttle cable looks to be broken but about halfway down it there is a plastic cover that is broke off. The cable is there I can see it but the cable tip is still on it and I can see the end that goes all the way to the carburator and it has a cable tip still on it. It almost looks like the cable is supposed to be in two parts. But if you could understand any of this I would really appreciate it you could help me.
Thanks

This is a two piece cable. Where it splits, one goes to the oil pump and the other to the carb. Part number is 54012-082. The original cable had a metal junction that could be unscrewed. Later cables had a plastic junction. If yours is the earlier part, you could replace the broken pieces with others from another cable. It is sold as one piece, so you can't buy just one part.

This same part number was used on F6 and all F7 models.

The cable probably HAD a junction box where you found the plastic cap. Top cable into the junction, and two cables out, one to the carb, and the other to the oil injection pump. It sounds like your old plastic junction box (could also be called a splitter) has broken up.
