If you were dirt poor and barely surviving you wouldn't be happy. You would wish that you had money to get you out of the situation. You would think that money would cure all of your problems.
The bible says give me neither poverty or wealth.
The very rich are usually not as happy as we think they are. Money isn't the most important thing in the world but it is important!
The happiest that a person will ever be is when he or she is content with their station in life.
That really doesn't happen very often.
The love of a good person and a loving family along with close friends is the best that you can hope for in this life. That is what brings happiness.

Mostly not, with certain exceptions. The worst thing about money, as an object of one's affections, is that it is only a medium of exchange, thus has no real 'value' on it's own. If one sets one's store on money, you are setting your store on yet another 'dragon', an urge that can never be satisfied.
Of course, we have all encountered the certain truth in that most of believe that a lack of the stuff is likely to engender much unhappiness, or so we convince ourselves !
The bottom line is, as others have hinted here, happiness is a state of mind, you can't 'become' happy by having this or that, you can only decide to be happy, regardless of what you may, or may not, have.

Oh yes - when a person capable of handling the attitudes of jealous people around them and general hangers on.
Money = Freedom. Freedom = Happiness.
There are other factors too but there is nothing better for the soul than knowing you can help those who are in a bit of financial trouble, to know you don't have to do a job you don't want to just to pay a mortgage and you can go anywhere in the world when you feel like it.

Well it depends on what u spend it on. If u donate money to the poor it could make u happy, if u buy a Porsh car it could make u happy, if u buy a ipod that could make u happy so it depends on what u spend it on. But money cannot always make u happy. U have to find ur own happiness instead of using shortcuts.

Ever since the introduction of a monetary form of payment, people have manipulated it in order to make it the most important thing in life. As it becomes more important, more and more people want it. And as more and more people want it, more and more people are willing to give anything for it. Although money cannot buy you happiness in a physical sense, it will buy things and will "influence" things that will inevitably lead to happiness.

It never bought me much happiness. If I had a choice, id much rather be rich spiritually and poor financially.
Money doesnt buy you love (true love) and certainly cant buy you a sense of self worth. It can only 'rent' you these things.....once the money has gone, so does the love and self worth. The best things in life are free.........
