I think graduated licensing programs should be required for all ages. Perhaps you could skip the permit stage if you were over 18, but time restrictions for a while first... Leave the minimum at 16 though. That way if you take driver's ed and earn it before you can. But you should have to earn it, no matter what age you are.

I believe that would be a positive change. Most 16 & 17 year olds simply are not mature enough to handle the responsibility of driving. I know many parents love their children to drive because it gives them more time to do other things instead of driving their kids to school, games, shopping, etc.
At a minimum, the requirements for getting a license need to be changed. There should be many more hours behind the wheel driving and gaining experience along with additional studying and class time going over the magnitude of the responsibility that comes along with driving.
I would like to see both the age requirement increased as well as the training.

No, thats not the answer, but we should require more driving time with the permit before being issued a licsence, There are a lot of 16 year olds who have to work and go to school.

No, I think it should stay at the same age and go down to 16 in the states or county's that are at 17 or higher.

No. I do think new drivers need a lot more restrictions on their licenses, but I think it is better that they be new drivers when more are under the eyes of their parents than when they are older and more unsupervised.

Why not go further! 50 sounds very reasonable, that should reduce the traffic death rate for sure!
