You'll know. Your belly will look different-no one may notice but you and your doctor-but you'll know. After carrying your tummy in the original position for months you'll know when the slightest change occurs.

Can you fit your hand under your boobs - flat to your belly? If you couldn't before and can now sometimes that's an indication. You will feel more pressure on your pelvic bones, need to pee more and waddle more.

Some babies don't drop until they are ready to be born --- like the day before. It's offically called quickening by the way.

Also your baby will be unique to you --- I have four and while all the pregnancies and births were different, I carried all of them to 40 weeks.

Blessings

I knew because my boobs no longer rested on my chest, I had a great deal more pressure on my cervix and bladder, I had to pee a lot more frequently, and my back hurt a lot more. Also, my heartburn eased up a bit and I was able to eat a little more than before.
Many people also told me I looked different after not seeing me for a few days and my Doctor confirmed it.

37 weeks pregnant, but dropped at 32.

Usually you will experience more pelvic or pubic pain because the baby's head has engaged. And you can usually breathe a bit easier because the baby has moved down.

I am 36 weeks and 4 days....and my little one hasn't dropped at all!

you can breath easier because pressure is off your lungs. you start feeling like you have a pee every few minutes you waddle because the babys head is stuck in your hips
