Void of even the smallest mistakes. I'm not talking about true violations of the rules of engagement. But to the fact that those rules change almost daily and that our troops are only human. Not the killing machines they have been made out to be in the media. Combat is the hell on earth that you never want to see and once seen you never forget. Is it that Americans now only see war through video games. Where no one realy dies and your not realy being shot at. Or run low on ammo. Or feel the true fear that must be over come to survive a battle. Does our media play too much of a role in our percepcion of our troops.

I agree. You take a group of 18 year old boys... train them to be a perfect killing machine... send them to war, and then Monday morning QB them to death.

They are in a war zone, they are getting shot at. They shoot back and some pansy screams... "OH MY GOD THEY ARE KILLING CHILDREN". Have you seen those "children"? The ones burning American flags while chanting "Death to America" while waving around an AK47?

Well, let me tell ya.... The children and women in Iraq are no different then the Hitler Youth in WW2. If they do not want to be in the fight, then stop shooting at our boys.

Also, until the whiners like Ted Kennedy go over there and spend a tour in the dust with our boys... Then do not even try to second guess them! They are Honorable doing a Nobel job that no one else wants to do.

If we had media like we have now back in WW2, we would all be speaking German now.

Yes media has a big role in showing the World how our troups should behave in battle.

In battles anything goes, our troops is under a lot of pressure and is under a stressful environment.

Our troops and their family need the support of Americans because they are out there to defense our rights and freedoms. They do not need criticism from Americans.
Think of our troops as a wall in between us and the people that would harms us.

That's because we spend at least 330 billion dollars each year to make sure our troops have the resources needed to accomplish their mission. That is the least but the Department of Defense spending is the biggest debt on the federal budget. You're right to a point that soldiers should have some space for accidents, the only problem is soldiers are paid to act and not to think. Commanders are responsible for the actions of their soldiers. This is who the National-Union will hold accountable, http://www.voteprimous.com

People don't have a realistic view of battle. You lose your humanity, the death and carnage you witness makes you numb. The rules are different, and they should not be judged by the same rules as proper society. Every time we become a occupying force, this happens, but there are few prosecutions above the enlisted rank. Just another injustice put upon the people by the ruling elite.

Reality in war is common sense dignity and respect for the people who are being fought .Common sense plays apart in way that does not endanger the rest of unit as it takes one person without commonsense to make a mistake .A real soldier is one who know his boundary's ,beliefs and how to deal with war in a human way as a real soldier with these quality's will prevail.

We would of never won previous wars if the media we have now existed then.

The media is mostly biased.

In my opinion the media coverage of wars should be more controlled by the military as far as access to certain items and media outlets that clearly print false statements or confidential information should be prosecuted.

The media has a responsibility that they are not living up to.

I am sorry but i cannot agree with that statement.

If media coverage was given to the military, more heinous acts would just be covered up and buried.

The people who expect perfection in war have no idea what it's like to have their life on the line second by second. I have the utmost respect for the U.S. military.

We expect our troops to be perfect in battle as you say, because we have a code of honor to uphold even in battle.

Things happen in war and should be expected. Intentional questionable acts should be scrutinized. But, we aren't there and don't know what it's truly like and will never know. Thus, we aren't qualified to criticize.
