Limewire in itself is not illegal it is a P2P program that for the majority is used in the illegal tranfer of files but the program itself is not.
As long as you do not download any paid licence programs you are not doing anything illegal. There are licenses like freeware which is exactly like it sounds.
however if you only want legal stuff the best method is doing torrents with bittorent. less viruses and all.

Limewire is not an illegal software, nor does all the content that you get from it is. Its actually a P2P software where people share the stuff they have. If someone has a shareware sharing on the network, then its not illegal, same is the case with some personal stuff, like someones own writings, vidoes or pics. But if someone has uploaded some files which are copyright protected, then it may be illegal to get those files (which you can ofcourse get but will remain illegal).

if you burn them and distribute them for profit yes you are doing an illegal thing, that is called piracy. I have one question in my mind, if limewire is illegal why is it still online (website still up and running)

Limewire as a program is not illegal. Sharing copyrighted content through it (e.g. downloading/uploading to other users) through it, is.
The best word to describe this "dilemma" is the following: If you like something, buy it.

No Limewire is not illegal. what is illegal when the content available to public? when U are open yourself to public it not the public fault to use you. is it not? so limewire

yup limewire is totaly legal for the time being..... You should worry more about downloading viruses from limewire then worring about getting in trouble from the goverment..

It is illegal, so download them at your own risk, also you are at risk of infecting your computer with virus's and spyware if your not careful.
If it wasn't illegal then itunes would be free to download songs.
