I am not so sure about Ivy League schools but U.C. Berkeley two years ago rejected well over 1,000 students who had a 4.0 or higher!
Two things might help you, however ... what kinds of classes are you taking? Are they good solid classes or are they just average level classes (ex. 4 years of math, 3 years of science, 4 years of foreign language, etc.)? Secondly, what are you doing outside of the classroom. Harvard used to suggest that students complete 1,000 hours of community service before they apply, and these hours should be completed within an area where you have some sort of creative leaders (ex. did you volunteer at a local hospital or did you create a program to tutor children while they are in the hospital?).

That's a pretty high GPA, but really, colleges don't rely exclusively on how high your GPA is. They look at things like leadership in clubs, extracurricular activities..basically anything that makes you stand out from other people.
True, Ivy League schools tend to accept students with high GPAs, but a high GPA doesn't necessarily guarantee your acceptance. My friend had a 3.8, but had a bunch of extracurricular activities that she was extremely devoted to and held high positions in each and got into Yale. One girl in my grade had a 4.2, but since she spent most of her time devoted to her studies, she wasn't able to fulfill any extracurricular activities and was rejected from Harvard. So really, it just kind of depends. Work hard and pursue what interests you...

IVY LEAGUE???? u r outta ur mind, if u r planning to go straight from high school to an ivy league school, your GPA has to be at least 4.28 if its any lower than that, the administrater needs to see what extra curricular activities u r doing, BTW ino u think im a jerk-*** now, but trust me, my dad is a counsel seater for the board of administrators for UCLA. if UCLA is that strict, don't get ur hopes up for Stanford
