Yes, and you can get an infection in your uterus and lose your fertility altogether.
Please go and have a D&C as soon as you can. It's really fast and you will only bleed for a few days after it. Then you will feel so much better.
Good luck

I had a miscarriage in 1997. I was told I needed to have a D & C and like you I did not want it. More out of fear of being put to sleep than the actual proceedure. Anyway, after 6 full months of bleeding (I should have bought stock in Tampax) I decided to do it. You are right about having more pain, but believe me it is worth it. You could also get a serious infection if you do not " dust & clean" as my Dr. liked to call it. Good luck to you. From one mom to another, I am so sorry for your loss.

First off, sorry for your loss. I know the pain all too well after experiencing five losses myself. Please have the d&c. As mentioned earlier you can get an infection and destroy your fertility permanently. The upside of the D&C is that it will help normalize your hormones and your body can get back to normal cycles sooner. Best wishes.
