Just got the shock of my life on my answering machine. My drug test was "rejected". Does this mean Failed? Im stoned? Im just a family man in my mid 40s and have never used drugs in my life. I dont even drink booze. I havent taken any prescription drugs or even over the counter in 6 months. I cannot believe it. I fly back to my hometown to get a job to start immediatly and I get this. Im taking another one but Ill at the least be unemployed waiting for another 3 weeks. How accurate are these things? Im guilty of too much caffiene in my jumbo travel cup and shouldnt smoke Marlboro's. I support Lowe's efforts for a drug-free workplace, but geez!! Get a new laboratory contract. Im as squeaky clean as they come.

There is usually a way to contest it. I was told once when taking a drug test for a potential employment that I would have to pay for a second test if it failed and I wanted to contest it. "Rejected" may mean that there was a false positive or that something was messed up with the handling of your sample. I don't know exactly what the margin of error is on a urine test, but there definitely is one. A retest may be a second urine test but it may also be a blood test. Whatever the reason, there should still be a way for your job to be OK. Good luck!

Your drug test may have not been the correct temperature, Or any number of things. They are stupid. I didn't pee enough to reach temp strip for a drug test, so I was fired from Napa auto parts, who sucks anyway! There could be any number of stupid things. Sorry about your being unemployed. I am also hoping Lowe's calls me to go take a drug test. I want to work there. It beats the helloutta delivering auto parts! (what I do now for Auto Zone!)

If you are being honest about no drugs, ask for a retest. Stay away from poppy seeds (positive for opiates) and cough syrup (can positive for methadone). Who was the message from, the lab or Lowe's? If it is from the lab, it doesn't necessarily mean that you tested positive. Also, if you are around people who smoke pot alot, you can test positive for that.

My friend had that happen and they tested him again and he passed I guess it happens to a lot of people. You should be ok on a re-test ! Have a Good Night.

Your fine you will have to retake the test you probally drank to much water and dulited the sample if this happens a line will not show up in the control part of the sample which means its a diluted or tampered urine

You can and should challange the test then. There are things that can give a false postive. For example I think poppy seeds can give a positive reading for opium I think.

Call the lab and find out EXACTLY what the result is as you are entitled to the results. As for taking another one, usually what happens when you believe it is incorrect or a mistake, they make you pay for the second one. But definitely find out what your results were. Some of these labs uses are not top-notch.

well they won't hire you if you fail the test.There is somekind of seed that is on bread called poppy seeds that will make you fail the test .Ask then to retest you again and make sure you have not taken or ate anything with poppy seeds on it.Good Luck

Did you have caraway or seseme seeds in a salad or bread. I understand that these can affect a drug test.
