If they are deep scratches, get a steam iron set it above the scratch with the steam on watch the grain rise, sand and re stain.......and put some polyurethane on........Finding stain to match might be hard but if you go to a good paint store they can match it (not Home Depot or Lowe's )

If you don't want to refinish it I use a darker color marker and literally draw into the scratch. With 18 grandchildren they do scratch the floor and this method works well untill u can afford to have it refinished.
There are stains right at the hardware store you can use as well. But u will have to lightly sand and then poly it.
Shoe polish is another quick fix then use a furnisher wax on top.

Place a wet towel over the scratch and heat it up with a iron. The heated moister will swell the scratch enough for the area to be sanded once it dries completely. Be very careful when applying the heat to the towel. Or you can but what looks like a magic marker but really holds stain that comes in matching shades.

If the scratches are deep, they can be filled in with wood putty. After that dries, sand to make it even with the surface. Before staining or revarnishing, lightly scour the entire dresser with fine sandpaper. This will add adhesion to the stain or varnish. Follow the stain or varnish label directions.
If the scratches are only on the stain or varnish, there are furniture touchup pens available at most paint stores. These pens come in a pack of different shades.

it really depends on what type of wood is scratched.
Walnut: Rub a wallnut nut (unsalted) into the scratch
Oak: Use shoe polish of the same coloured wood
Teak: Rub gentley with a VERY fine Steel wool then polish with Linseed oil and Turps

Somtimes just a fresh polish use wax can do the trick
