When you write a series in which the individual subjects have commas in them (such as Providence, Rhode Island), than they must be seperated by semi-colons. This applies to the entire series, even if only one of the subjects needs a comma

Micheal has lived in Portaln, Oregon, San Francisco California, and Providence, Rhode Island. Do you have to state teh capitals? You could then write it like- Micheal has lived in Oregon, California, and Rhode Island. Hope this is good! I didn't find anything wrong with it. ;) GOOD LUCK! Keep up the Language Arts!
