Yes, it is quite normal (if you can call anything that happens during pregnancy "normal"). When you are pregnant, your digestive system slows down considerably so your stomach will have time to absorb more nutrients for you and the baby. Any time food stays in your system for a long time, it tends to - shall we say, harden - a little, thus giving you that backed up feeling. But don't worry, as they say - this too shall pass. :)

Yes its completely normal. I had this really bad in the first 2 trimesters of this pregnancy. I would eat a bowl of oatmeal, then about 20 minutes later...need I say more? It really helped me stay regular. Good Luck.

Yes, constipation is a side effect. Your doctor can probably prescribe a stool softener if it is really bad. Sad but true, I ate sugar-free candies that contained malitol as a sugar substitute, and it has a laxative effect, so that helped me get through pregnancy.

Ive heard a lot about this that when you are pregnant some women do get constipated! but for my first pregnancy i did not and for this second one i haven't i would suggest just drink a lot of water and eat cereal or food that has your daily intake of fiber!
Hope this helps and congratulations and good luck!

That is so normal that its in every book and article when discussing symptoms of pregnancy. You can take stool softeners like colace during pregnancy to help, I had too. Call your doctor to find exactly they prefer.

Yes changes in hormones can cause this. You need to eat a more high fibre diet.
Taking iron tables can constipate you, but if you take them with Juice you should be ok.

it is a common symptom, but not good for you. Try get more fiber and water. Stool softeners are also safe to use (safer than laxatives) during pregnancy.

quite possible. The baby puts pressure on everything in there. Thats what causes needing to pee so often, and yes, it can cause constipation.

Yes. That's one of those symptoms they list in just about every pregnancy book or website.

Constipation is very normal during pregnancy, hence the hemorrhoids. It is frustrating, but very, very normal.
