The model of leadership that Jesus gave us was one of servant-leadership. Those seem on a surface level to be contradictory, but they are not. Leaders help those in their charge to be successful. Taking an attitude of service into that position and relationship stimulates success and garners respect quietly.

A leader needs to inspire. He needs to have both the respect and confidence of those he is responsible for. A Leader can be competent, organized, and fair, but if he can't get people to work harder...than why is he in charge?

the ability to get the respect of the people that he/she is leading. if you are leading people that do not respect you you are not going to have the loyalty that you need. and if you have their respect, they know you are fair and that you are not going to be arrogant, or self important.!
