I purchased a 44,000 sq feet grocery store (previously Save Rite). I currently used SuperValu to stock my shelves. However, their are extra empty aisles because my store is bigger than the average grocery store. Have any ideas to add more selection? Help is much appreciated

I also have some areas such as the front of the store and the (what used to be) deli area empty. Any ideas to make use of this space? Thank you!!

I would add a whole aisle of closeouts and half price and deep discount stuff, you can use a considerable amount of your own current stock for this. In most cases it's items that you can't get rid of or are near or just past expiration, dented boxes and cans, maybe a bottle of something that has leaked, discontinued and out-of-season stock etc... Again, all closeout this stuff we would throw it away but hey here it is at 1/2 price or whatever price you feel is fair at that time.

If you don't have enough of this crap, maybe call some other stores and see if they have any stuff they might sell you for a whole lot price, idk this part is beyond my scope, just idea.

I would make this strategic, not to be a smartypants, but put it some kind of way the customers can't just see it right off the bat but like a surprise section like hey WOW look here stuff, not hidden but don't put it right at the front door lol.

If that's not up your alley, another idea is eliminate one entire line of shelving, then re-arrange the rest and ooops all the aisles are suddenly a bit wider (unfortunately I think this will involve some type of floor restoration). But, it would simply give the store more air, I think your biggest problem is you just haven't gotten used to all that extra space lol.

So a third idea is run an ad in a paper, get a mailing out and get the customers happening if you have the finances, all you need is enough buyers so then you can stock at will.

Or some combination of those?

Then, simply restock the rest as usual.

Here are my suggestions:
(1) An organic foods aisle - to cater to the natural, healthy, non-processed food craze and
(2) International foods aisle - a nice addition to help draw in customers who can't find certain food items in a standard supermarket (example: asian food aisle, indian food aisle, even kosher aisle maybe) :)

Or if you just want to use the space, you could open a cafe with a seating area.

Hope this was helpful.

sure they could be difficulty to disciplinary movements and conceivable firing and via all rights. An corporation isn't allowed to renowned someones individual interest, and an corporation prefer not adjust the artwork habitual for someones ideals. what's the owner assume to do, placed a demonstration over a undeniable funds sign up that publicizes, repulsed via purple meat? OR Ring you purple meat products right here in basic terms please? If a element of a job turns somebody off, they shouldn't in any respect take the interest. in this occasion, the product being scanned, kosher or not isn't the project, the religion asks to not eat those products, that they had no theory there could be shops before while the religion created its regulations. So sure, somebody might desire to get fired for not appearing the interest they agreed to do. And No the guy shouldnt sense to blame for ringing up products they % to not eat.

a lot depends on your region what works one place doesn't work in another. i would suggest expanding upon what you offer such as Mexican foods ,just offer more variety, offer more canned stuff so the spoilage isn't so great ,good luck
