I've been baby-sitting for about 3 years now. I have experiance and people would like to know my rates and I don't have one. And I don't like telling people what to pay. What is an average ammount I should start out with?

$7.50 an hour for kids who are self sufficient. $9.50 for infants/babies. Looking after children to ensure their safety and well being is hard work! Good luck---by the way, you get what you pay for.

Wow! I am surprised at how much people pay. I am obviously very cheap. I pay my 13 year old babysitter 6 dollars an hour for one child. When I asked her about a set rate, she said she does not have one. I also live in Wisconsin.

I would be curious to find out if the age of the babysitter matters when discussing the rate?

It looks to be about $8-9 an hour for 3 kids, You can't charge professional prices/nanny prices like $14-15 an hour unless you are certified. I pasted a link for you, I hope it helps.

I don't charge anything, I take what I get, although a good price is like 5 for one and 6 for two and 8 for three +...I have made anywhere from about 12 to 2...It (for me) depends on the financial situation. I have also done it for free, multiple times and I don't compromise payment for quality, I do the same work all around...good luck and I'd say, 5 is good in general.

for the one who said 9 to 10 an hour daycare is cheaper if watched the kid for 8 hours it would be 80 dollars you can send the kid for 110 a week i would say 4 to 5 an hour for babysitting

I wouldn't give an exact dollar amount per hour, when you are asked to watch someones child, ask them how long it's going to be for,the age of the child, and how often they need you!You want to keep it reasonable to keep them coming back to you,if you tell them 9 bucks an hour chances are they will find someone to do it for cheaper!!

I charge $12/hr, no matter how many kids I am babysitting.

for poorer people 9.00 a hour for a more wealthier family 10.00 + is a reasonable rate.
