So I have been seeing this guy for over 3 years now and we're just friends. No Commitment. His mom and I had our first conversation last week. And we've met up a couple of times. Today he, his mother, and i went for lunch and then a quick shopping trip. When we left our shopping trip she refered to herself as the "mother in law." What does this mean? It really shocked me, and I played it off like it wasn't a big deal. I really do like the guy, and could see us together. Please help.

I've known of his mom as long as i've known him, and she has known of me as well. But like I said we just "met" last week.

it means he has told his mother how he really feels about you and what he thinks of your relationship and where it might be going....

Stop!!! Don't let her involve herself in this relationship at thiat level. It will only cause problems. Just disregard the entire conversation and stay true to the original relationship whick is with your friend NOT the mother/in/law wannabe. Good luck

If you could see yourself with this guy then first impressions are very important. Especially with the "future mother-in-law". He must have told her how he really feels about you, or she just said it to see what your reaction would be. Either way, if she likes you you have nothing to worry about. If she doesn't, look out, boys especially tend to really care about what their mothers think. Become her friend, you definitely don't want her as your enemy.
