My and my sister are going to move in together, I am 13 and she is 10. We are getting loft beds. We are fighting over who gets that window side. Do you have any soultions to our problems? Both of us REALLY want the window side.

We can only put the beds in a certain way since it is a fairly small room. One wall has two doors, and a BUNCH of shelfs. The next wall has one door, but it not big enough to put the beds. The next has THE window. And the next has nothing, hence why we are putting them there! There will be a cool curtain hanging from the celing to the floor for privacy, but we will be able to pull it back to talk. There are two loft beds which we are going to put as our "rooms". Under the window we are going to put this cute wooden bench.

We need a practial way of deciding. No pulling straws, flipping coins, or anything like that!

The only way to do it is by pure luck. Flip a coin. The winner gets the window side for 1 year. Then, you switch sides once a year, when you do the spring cleaning in the house.

The first day of every month, you switch so that the other person gets the window side that month. At the very end of the months, wash the sheets so you can put your sheets on your bed and she can put her sheets on her bed. You'll make your beds when you make the switch.

Ok this is going to sound really kinda lame, but one of you take the bunk towards the window for a month, then you switch off and on.

Good Luck on that decision but I do have to tell you this. For a 13 year old, you sure type and spell better than alot of Adults I have seen on here, including myself.

position the beds so your heads are against the window wall. that way, when you are laying on your sides you can see eachother, you then both have the window wall. (the beds should be in the corners? if possible)

I truly believe that won't work. My suggestion is to take turns. One week or two next to the window, then your turn. Who knows, maybe she will end up not liking the window, or vice-virsa ! Good Luck and God Bless !!

Put "window side" and "non window side" on a piece of paper, fold them and put them in a hat. You each draw and you take the side of what you draw.
Good luck!

let her have the window side, you'll be on the other side of the room. those summer breezes will come straight to your side and you'll be the most comfortable on those hot nights.
and you'll come off looking pretty good cause you were mature enough to let her have her way and she'll think she owes you one.
