I have a little leak in my shower and i don't really want to take the whole thing apart. Is there some type of shower head that lets you shut off water from the head, possibly one with the removable heads on the hose?

Your shower is most likely controled with an on off valve by your tub spout, that adjusts hot and cold water. If it's in the off position (no water flowing to the shower) then everything above this valve is off, go ahead and unscrew the shower head from the wall. Nothing will happen.
