Depends on a number of things like your connection speed, the speed of the download source ect, but I'd say between 2 and 6 hours but could always take longer depending on different factors.

Your processor speed is not an issue in downloading speed.
Downloading speed depends on the speed of your internet connection, the speed of the people who are sending you the file, and of course how large the file is.
The more bandwidth the sender and receiver have the quicker you will get the transfer completed.
Movie files can range anywhere from several hundred megabytes for a DivX encoded movie, to 3 or 4 gigabytes for a DVD image.
I have had some movies take days because of few sources, or very slow sources. And I have had some zoom down in just a couple of hours.

For me, it depends on what time of day I download. I download a full movie (.avi) in less than three hours at night (I'm in Mongolia). Sometimes when i start to download a movie the file download window says it will take 5 hours to finish downloading and I cancel the download to do it later. Surprisingly, sometimes times of day do not matter. I don'y know.
Plus my internet connection is fiber optic cable, which is fast.
The easy way to know how long it will take to download a movie is to see the transfer rate in the file download window after you start downloading. But you want not to believe in the results in first few seconds. They are tricky so you gotta wait for it to stabilize.
The rate is shown in kbs per second so you gotta do some math, at least for the first time.
I'm very happy when my transfer rate is somerwhere around 300 kbs per second. I'm happy enough when it is around 150. Sometimes I decide to continue my file downloading when the rate is around 100. I'm very dissappointed and decide not to continue when it is less than 70.

Let's say you have broadband around 5mbps. Then let's say you are downloading a 4GB movie. I would imagine you're downloading it from something like bittorrent so assuming all conditions are ideal you are talking 5 hours or so. If you have your internet speed and method of download I can assist you further.

It all depends on your Internet speed (if downloading of the internet), file size, ram, and file type. It is different for all movies.
Hope I helped.
