Scandals happen everywhere. It's a very sad part of the sport that brings it into disrepute. These people in the article along with most other cases I have read have actually incurred or have the distinct possibility of jail time, which is probably seen by many to be the correct and appropriate punishment so it will not happen again. I don't know if this was the case with anyone involved in the Italian scandal. I guess the reason it's focused on is because it was big name clubs involved and happened over a couple of years so was an ongoing thing in many matches, not like a one off incident. So the intent to deceive was continual until it was uncovered. That's how I see it from reading various opinions on similar questions.

the time came long time ago, they do it because Italian soccer is the manliest of all and is always on top, not like the American soccer league

I dont think thier would be such a big focus on series A if Juventus Wasnt Relegated. But keep in mind also Who else but the french really care about french ligue1? Its all about LFP EPL and Series A!!
