It all depends on your league settings. In H2H, you take Howard or Ortiz. In roto, MAYBE you take Soriano, but I'd still probably go with the power hitters.

Ortiz has shown several years of consistency and is unlikely to get injured playing DH (nothing worse than having your #1 overall pick out most of the year). However, last year the other two got better numbers, but he was right on their tails in all but SBs.

Howard exploded last year with big HRs, RBIs, AVG and decent runs (although about 20 behind the other two). Of course, SBs were non-existent (like Papi).

Soriano gets lots of the coveted SBs (but so do more people than ever last year) and more runs (only 4 more than Papi). However, his AVG is way below as are HRs and RBIs. Yes, he HAD a career year last year in Washington and he MIGHT even improve this year. He moves to a hitter's park so, of course, he'll hit more HRs this year, right? Oops, wait I seem to remember him playing in Texas (even more of a hitter's park) and being a big disappointment after getting a big contract. Hey, didn't he even have 2B eligibility then?

That said, I hope he leads the Cubs to the Series.

Well the best overall of these three would be Soriano. He can hit homers and steal bases and he is getting better at playing his position. Ryan Howard is probably better than Ortiz because Howard plays the field but Ortiz is just a DH.

Soriano, definitely. While Ortiz and Howard hit tons of homers, so does Soriano. But he also has the luxury of getting 40+ steals a year, so he is the best of all of them, at least in fantasy.

The best overall player out of these three people is got to be Alfonso Soriano. He contributes in more categorys and name another guy who will hit .278,180hits, 40+hrs,100+rbis and swap 40 bases to boot. The next closes guy that will do that is is Jimmy Rollins and is still not close .278 180+hits 25+hrs 80+rbis and 35+stole bases. No other guy compares to what Alfonso Soriano does for a fantasy team he'll contribute in more categories then almost anyone else.

Big Papi. Everyone is saying how much Ryan Howard rocks, but the truth of the matter is that he doesn't. It was just a one year streak he had and he is never going to hit that many HR's ever in his MLB career, trust me on that. Soriano puts up good numbers, but he isn't as good as Mr. Clutch. David Ortiz puts up great numbers every single year and is the best clutch/power hitter in my opinion in the whole MLB.

I vote Soriano, if your going for all around player. Howard has no insurance around him and will be getting the Bonds walking treatment this year. The only knock I have against Ortiz is that he his only available in the utility position, for the most part i stay away from those guys.

Howard and Soriano strike out too much.
Papi is the best outta those 3, although sori can steal bases etc, he does play bad defense.

Can't touch big Papi in the clutch!

Fantasy wise, Soriano. He will definitley put up 30 homeruns and 30 steals, maybe even a 40/40 season, which is much more valuable because the steals will earn you a lot of points.

Soriano because he can hit and run. Both Ortiz and Howard have size that will keep them at DH later in their careers. But Soriano can keep going and going and going.....
