Check with your local state aid office. I am assuming you are in the USA. They will help you.
There is also an organization called CIRCUITBREAKER
They help with utility bills and they have a list for low income housing.
In our area, they have what is called a township supervisor--they are the ones to get in touch with for rental assistance.
The United States Department of Agriculture is the source to go to for low income housing. They will set it up with a small percentage of what your wages are. I asked my son on this one, because he is a single Dad with 2 teenage girls.
