I have a young (approx. 1 1/2) male ball python that is very sick. He hasn't eaten in over two months. I know most of you will say he's fine, it's a ball pythons thing. I wasn't worried at first because I knew that they would go on hunger strikes and I was lucky to have him eat so well for so long. That was until he lost tons of weight. My little 9 month old weighs way more than he does. Then he began to poop out a clear gel type liquid, which then was found with blood mixed in. I am very worried. He refuses to eat and is extremely skinny. He was already skinny as it was because I wasn't able to feed him as often before. I have contacted a local animal clinic and plan to take him in this weekend. I am only 13 so I can only do so much. I will do what I have to though. I have already successfully exterminated snake mites from him and two others later last year. Please if anyone has any idea what I can do, please speak up! I love this snake very much!

It sounds like your Ball Python may have Pseudomonas (sp) or Gastroenteritis (sp). You will need to take it to a vet and get the correct antibiotic to clear it up.. DO IT SOON !! Reptile metabolism is slower than mammals and antibiotics take longer to work..

THE BEST THING TO DO RIGHT NOW IS SEPERATE YOUR TWO SNAKES IF THEY ARE IN SAME CAGE,TILL YOU GET IT TO THE VET DON'T TRY TO FEED IT,MAKE SURE IT HAS PLENTY OF WATER,AND STAYS WARM.IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH THE SNAKE HAS SOME SORT OF PARASITE IN IT,JUST HURRY AND GET THE POOR THING TO YOUR LOCAL VET AND GOOD LUCK GETTING YOUR SNAKE HEALTHY

get it to the vet. it sounds like a parasite...give it Gatorade and pedialite mix until then in its water dish...it will hydrate him and give him nutrients until then...i got a ball python myself and had to give him this mix once...it really helps
