We can do that just by looking at them. And we do. There's a whole scientific field devoted to it - planetary science.

I dont think so. The closest solar system is 4 1/2 light years away. Meaning if they were moving at the speed of light it would take them 4 1/2 years to get there.

Why will we would desire to exceed the cost of light? besides the fact that if we don't have the technologies precise now, that's honestly conceivable to get colony ships to the closest movie star systems interior of a human existence time. At 50% speed of light it might take under a decade to get to the alpha centauri gadget, if that has an inhabitable planet we could (in concept) colonise it. needless to say it is interior the way distant destiny although even although this is not exterior the nation-states of theoretical threat, even although asking questions like this is like asking a 2 year previous newborn to run a marathon, we've slightly started to take our first steps into area, provide it a pair hundred or perhaps one thousand years and we as a species could have unfolded around the photograph voltaic gadget. extremely frankly there is not any might desire to bypass to different stars until our sunlight is on its final legs. meaning we've a minimum of four billion years to be concerned approximately attending to the closest movie star.

Reaching another solar system is far different from reaching another universe.
As for the first...
We will once we get past the light barrier (no matter can have v >= c). Otherwise, it'll just take way too long.

I don't think our technology will advance far enough to reach another solar system within your life time, no matter how young you are. Probably not within 100 years, if ever.

What is your quesiton? Another solar system or another universe?
I ask b/c another solar system is about 4 light years away. Another universe could be 14 billion light years away.

No. But only because of the wording of your question. Using the term 'astronaut' very liberally, then absolutely. And to those who said that another solar system doesn't exist...you're a retarded monkey.

When I hear questions like yours, I seriously ponder the future of the human race. With all the planets, moons, meteors, comets, and other things, why are we so consumed in our own conflicts on this planet? Why are people so busy invading other peoples' privacy and other rotten things rather than investigating and researching new technology, science, and exploration, like in Star Trek and other movies?
