"Feelings of inadequancy" usually stem from your childhood. In most cases people with this type of diagnosis did not get very much positive attention from their mother and/or father or did not get the attention they were seeking. Because they feel inadequate they may get very defensive and feel that others are always viewing them negatively.

The goal in therapy is to make these "supressed" feelings---meaning you unconsciously or consciously decided to not deal with them so you pushed it out of your mind---- resolved by creating situations that make you see yourself in a better light and that gives you positive attention.

Could it be that you may feel your psychiatrist is a jackass because he's revealing feelings that you are not used to dealing with (hence the supression)?

Try to tell this to your psychiatrist. Scream it, yell it or just bluntly state it the way you just did! Get some of your rage out and openly discuss that you think he's a jackass! They won't (or at least they shouldn't) take it personally!

You should really try to open up to your psychiatrist. I mean, you're gonna have to go anyways right? You might as well get something out of it!

Don't knock "shrinks". He may be the one and only person to truly help you at this time in your life. Try to be more open minded--oh, pardon the pun! Anyway, the doctor may feel that when you were younger, you felt inadequate or insecure. Did your parents not provide for a loving, nourishing and secure home environment? Were you repeatedly criticized by your parents? Never being quite good enough for them? Not measuring up to their expectations, in other words? Are your parents divorced? Did the kids at school pick on you? These are probably the kinds of questions that need answering in order to explain your hostility. You may not realize how events in your early chldhood can directly effect your present state of being.

he is saying that you have a lot of anger because someone is your life continually made you feel that nothing you do is good enough or done in the right way, you tend to not try to show your anger and it is causing you problems, the only way to get better is to realize that you have to live up to your own standards-not someone Else's, if you don't do things the way someone else does, it doesn't mean you can't or that you are not as good at it, it only means you are an individual and you do things your own way. it is hard to deal with those feeling, if you were raised in a home where one parent or the other were perfectionists,{ been there done that }. you have to do things the way you like and not try to do them the way someone else likes. then you will feel more confident and it will get better for you to not get angry. good luck!!

Get a new shrink. Who opens up to a jackass?

And express those inadequate feelings you suppressor you!

...and if you want to stop being angry, really, then ACCEPT people as if they are exactly like they are supposed to be, and ALLOW that.

There are few more worthy challenges.

Live well~

To translate: you are pissed because you feel like you aren't as good as everyone else. Fixing this is something that would take more than a 1-2 paragraph answer on this site, but in a nutshell, you need to find a way to feel good about yourself and not compare yourself negatively to other people.

Ask to be transferred to a different dr. who doesn't talk to you in psychobabble and isn't a "jackass."

In plain and simple terms someone in your childhood was very critical of you. And, rightfully so, you would feel inadequate and anger would stem from being told you were not up to par.

Get a new shrink or tell him to put his thoughts in layman terms.

each and everyone of us have a tendency to feel inadequate. you are giving yourself a hard time.
free yourself from your insecurities.
being inadequate sometimes is what makes us human. nobody's perfect. remember?
express yourself every now and then. shout, run, scream whatever you want to do to let all those rage and insecurities out.

as for your shrink!
find another one who's more of a doctor than a psychobabbling freak.

Sounds to me like you need an attitude adjustment. You are not going to get anywhere or get rid of the anger by having a negative attitude towards your therapist and other people.
Negative attitudes and anger get people in prison or dead.
