who is the better singer/songwriter in your eyes. forget that one is for chevy (john) and one is for ford (toby). and that one is rock (john) and one is country (toby).

I've been to so many concerts... of all genre... rock, country, reggae, alternative, classical, blues, jazz... and let me tell you, Mellencamp brings the house down. There is not one person on his/her feet after the first song. He blows like you wouldn't believe !!! If you have read anything about Mellencamp, you'd know that he considers himself a poet first, a songwriter second. That is the same thing the greatest song writer of all times says.... Bob Dylan. Neil Young echoes that, and so does my personal fave.... the great Van Morrison !!

Mellencamp is a better writer, but Toby is less pretentious. As musicians they're about equal.
