'Magnetic force' is a phenomena that has been known since the times of the ancients. In many ways, it behaves similarly to gravity, and in many ways is it totally different. Magnetic fields are composed of a 'north' and a 'south' pole. The names are pretty arbitrary, but it's important to notice that, for a magnetic field to exist, there must be both types of poles present.

A region in space where a magnet feels attraction/repulsion losely speaking.
Also magnetic fields do not affect a stationary charge but only moving charges.Hence current carrying conductors which have moving electrons in them get influenced by magnetic fields. Not just that infact moving charges create magnetic fields and also get influenced by magnetic fields.
Electricity and magnetism are linked this was discovered by a man called oerstead.Try reading up on history of science its really nice.
