as a foreigner that would be very very difficult given that is the dream job of maybe 10 15 percent of japanese kids.
I say you need to create some kind of marketing angle, get some kind of comic started or something to draw a following. get you work out there and get your career going yourself. THEN it would be more likely to be noticed.
Im not kidding when I tell you that the average book store has more comics than regular books.
I suggest you start writing your own comic book and find someone to help you with the translating. If your work is good, people will read it. Believe me.
