No, but if you are pregnant and have had one previously, you really should let them know. I understand that someone may be ashamed or whatever, but it really best to give your Doctor all of your available information. Besides everything is confidential. If you are married they can't even tell your husband.
Sorry if I am reading too much into your question.

if you have had an abortion in the past you may have some scar tissue, not only that but you have a higher chance of having a miscarriage in the future. it may be possible for a physician to tell if you have had an abortion but not always likely. i am in my 4th year of medical school going to become an OB/GYN physician and have done lots of studying.
it could also be in your medical chart although i am not to familiar with that stuff. but you should be up front with your doctor like i stated before after an abortion you have an increased risk for future miscarriages, cancer (breast and cervical) and numerous other health problems.
Abortion can't cause cancer it increases the chance though, just talk to your doctor about it.
Forgot that some people are picky about words that are chosen.
Some are for abortion and would rather put someone down who knows the truth.
good luck!

I don't know but even if you are ashamed of it, you need to tell them. This is part of your medical history and it may affect treatment later. Don't worry, medical professionals will not make you feel bad. They will treat it very matter of fact and if they don't, you should get a new doctor.

yes they can. if they dont catch it you should tell them because it can raise some health concerns in certain situations and cause infertility and if doc doesnt know this then you cant get the right fertility treatments. i hope this helps.

No they cannot...The only way would be if by some rare chance you had some problem afterward and you had scar tissue there...It is your secret and will stay that way if that is what you choose.....
