Mari-
The best way is to learn through actually dancing! But only if you have a strong partner to lead you.
Or if you truly a novice, then start off with some dance lessons.
Search the net for dance studios in your area. Or if you are in a bigger city than check your local Y or community center.
Sometimes too, Latin Clubs have classes, so keep that in mind too.
Good luck and have fun!

just go to a club and dance.
people can sell you a video, but once you get the 8 count down, you just learn how to do anything you want as long as on the one count your right foot is going backward (girl)
just go dance and have fun with a guy that can dance. and be able to spin.
