Do they die easily? It's HUGE?!

Ok, it's dead- whew. Someone slapped it with a broom and opened the sliding doors and pushed it outside then killed it with the broom.

I live in South Texas and it must have snuck in. That thing was as big as my fist, it was brown and hairy with black pinchers.

Darn, I'm still shaking!

Tarantulas make nice pets.
If you don't want one..call
your local pet store and
ask if they want it. They are
easy to catch, and they are
not prone to bite, nor are
they poison. They are actually
very fragile, easily frightened.
Lay a large box on it's side,
you can coax it with a large
wooden spoon to go in the
right direction,when the
Tarantula crawls in, close the
box and take it to the pet store.
They may even pay you for it.

Hint for the next one that shows up, instead of killing it. Get a container and hold it by the bottom and put the open end straight down over the tarantula (coffee cans work well) and slide a piece of heavy paper under the container with the Tarantula inside and take it outside.. away from the house and release it.

Tarantulas DO NOT have pinchers. If it had pinchers it was probably a scorpion. Either way it did not have to be killed. It could have easily been trapped in a tupperware container or a box and released outside.
Killing an animal just because you are scared of it is idiotic and uncalled for and honestly i wish bad things on those kinds of people.

Trap it in a glass container, or a plastic one (like Tupperware) so you can see through it. Then slide a piece of cardboard underneath it. Carry it outside, preferably far, far away from your house, and set it free.

I would call an exterminator and wear thick shoes =/ They're NOT poisonous, and typically not aggressive. But if you can get it contained in one room with the door shut, call someone to help you trap it and relocate it.

Is it a pet or wild? If wild call an exterminator immediately. Call one either way actually. I wouldn't mess with the wild! If it's a pet hopefully you can coax it out somehow and still save your pet.

Invite him for dinner. He would probably be best deep fried.
