but Tiger Lily isn't a good name, in my opinion. Show horses usually have two names. They have a casual, friendly name, like Tiger Lily maybe or Bella or Moonlight. But in horse shows the horses are usually registered under their show names and use the show names at shows. These show names, or registered names usually are compilations from the names of their parents and they tend to be kind of weird sounding to people who aren't that familiar with showing horses. For example, my friend's horse is named Zippy for a casual name, but when he's in shows he uses his registered name which is a derrivitive of his sire's name which is Zippo Pine Bar who was a famous show horse, so Zippy's show name is Zippo Crested Arrow. Silver Crested Arrow was the name of his mother. If you want your horse to be taken seriously you might want to look more seriously at her bloodline or if she already is registered you should look at her papers. Tiger Lily is fine for the barn but not so much for show.

My horse, who we call Rusty, is regestered and shown as The Power Broker. I have no clue where this came from, I checked out his bloodlines, but can't find anything like that. But anyway, how about something like Addictive Elegance...I think about horse names way to much. Some more examples of the show names of horses that I have shown have been RF Shockin Yall (after the farm), Exclusive Invitation, and Sugar Creek Pistol. Good luck and have a great time at the shows, I can't wait till show season personally.

Try to incorperate some of the sire or dams registered/show name. For example if the sires name was "A misty night"
Make your horses show name "Misty morning" or something along those lines. If you don't know the sire or dams name try looking at your horses papers, and if no luck then just pick something cute like-- Saving Up my Pennies or if you want something involving flowers try... Crisanthemum ( spelling?) Or Bright morninglory, lily of the valley, Thornless rose, Daisy duke, Merry Carnation etc...
