First thing you need to is take the basketball when you're at the gym and go from base-line to base-line dribbling the ball and running as fast as you can. try your best to stay low and and control the ball the whole time. It'll take a while, but once you feel where you've established control when you you're dribbling the ball, keep that same rythm, it's called " Muscle Memory ". You can do this and also get it done with both hands if you really work at it!!! Second, set up some cones, or use multiple stacks of old books and set the cones, or books about 6 to 8 feet away from eachother down a straight line from half-court to base-line and start some change of direction drills. Going down in a zig-zag motion between the cones, working on your cross-over, in between the legs cross-over, behind the back, and spin dribble switching hands every time. Developing both hands to work equally well for you will increase your ability to make the squad next season. Remember, always keep your center of gravity low, and keep the ball low and away from defenders. You might want to try doing these drills with a pair of strength shoes. You can find them on eastbay.com, this will develop good first-step speed and over-all quick accelleration, which is what you'll need to drive to the basket. Also remember, this is very important, keep your head up looking around for weak spots. Know where the defenders are, and your teammates as well. This skill will help enhance your court vision and get your assists per game number up. Good luck, be persistent in your work ethic and I promise you, all that hard work will pay off tremendously. Take care!!!!

you need to replay all those practices in your head. don't neglect homework or other responsibilities, but eat drink ,and sleep BASKETBALL!!! you didn't make this year, but who knows what the next will bring. you might grow a few inch's, and if you start a routine now. you'll be that much farther ahead of the other guys next year. one last thing see if the coach will let you stay on as a manager. then you'll be around the team all the time, and maybe get in on practices. it should help you make a solid relationship with the team and the coach. most of all keep tryin, and keep your head up!

Dribble the ball between your legs 15 times.
Dribble in front of your legs 15 times.
Make circles with the ball around your feet head and hips 15 or 20 times.
Shoot more than 100 jumpers daily with the proper technique.
This will work
It worked for me.

Play alot more, but play with people alot better then you. Sure playing with people your better then makes you look better, but that isn't your goal. Play with people better then you, and watch them closely. Your handling, practice in the mirror, see what moves make the ball open. However, moving with the ball you can't do that. During games, just try to drive alot, practice your jukes, crossovers, and the classic yet always effective, between 2 defender split.
